Love Your Viruses (COVID-19). Facts not fear! UPDATED

(February 2022) – Over the last 24 months much has been learned and extensive research has been done. Still, my article written in March 2020 holds true to a large extent especially considering the “big picture” and the importance of healthy living and building a strong and resilient immune system, and the need to understand how microbes play a vital part in our organism.

I believe a recent study (out of many) says it clearly: “A new study of thousands of hospitalized coronavirus patients in the New York City area, the epicenter of the outbreak in the United States, has found that nearly all of them had at least one major chronic health condition, and almost — 88 percent — had at least two.” (23)

(March 10, 2020) – Don’t believe conspiracy theories or simple, fear-based explanations. Instead, understand why microbes & viruses play an essential part in our body’s self-healing mechanism and why it is very important to take any infection seriously.

Comment and share here.

The coronavirus scare is another major reason why we need competent Lifestyle Medicine Health Coaches trained in the Art and Science of Self-Healing.

In this article we’ll explore:

    1. Corona Virus Sars-CoV-2 and COVID-19 symptoms and facts (stats and comparison to the seasonal flu/influenza)
    2. Organ-Mind-Brain Anatomy perspective
    3. Lifestyle Prescriptions® Self-Healing Protocols
    4. Strategies for a healthy immune system

I’d like to take you on a journey from fearing viruses to knowing their biological function and purpose from a Lifestyle Medicine and Self-Healing perspective, and invite you to start loving your viruses.

The Symptoms and Facts

Harvard Medical Schools reports that some people infected with the COVID-19 virus have no symptoms. When the virus does cause symptoms, common ones include low-grade fever, body aches, coughing, nasal congestion, runny nose, and sore throat. However, COVID-19 can occasionally cause more severe symptoms like high fever, severe cough and shortness of breath, and other symptoms including pneumonia. (13)

Let me first dive into the facts and establish a baseline by starting with the seasonal flu:

    • The average seasonal flu kills between 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year (1).
    • The CDC confirmed that the seasonal flu has killed 20,000 people in the United States this year with 350,000 hospitalizations (5).
    • Mortality rates for the seasonal flu are between 0.05% and 3.5% (with 0.03% for people 65 and younger and 3% for people over 75)
    • The most common pathogens found with respiratory symptoms related to seasonal flu/influenza are
      1. Rhinoviruses
      2. Influenza A viruses
      3. Influenza B viruses
      4. RS and coronaviruses
    • A variety of coronaviruses are found in 7-15% of influenza clients (7)
    • Flu and coronaviruses are changing every year (via antigenic drift and shifts) which means there are “novel-new” viruses all the time. (14)

Now, let’s look at COVID-19:

    • Worldwide to date, 1,909,119 people have tested for the coronavirus and 118,924 have died (which is 5-10% of the number of people who die from the seasonal flu each year). (9)
    • About 90% of the people tested with the coronavirus have mild flu-like symptoms (9)
    • If we consider that the vast majority of people with flu-like symptoms very likely have the coronavirus but have never been tested (e.g. they don’t appear in these stats) then it’s clear that we will end up with stats comparable to the seasonal flu.
    • Dr. Fauci states in his New England of Medicine article: “If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968)” (16)
    • The majority of people who die from the seasonal flu or the coronavirus have pre-existing conditions like respiratory or other chronic diseases.
    • Only 20% of people on the Diamond Princess cruise (which was a closed natural environment that allows for accurate measures) contracted the virus and fully recovered. The fatality rate was a comparatively low 0.85%.
    • Japan and South Korea are examples of governments making smart decisions that resulted in low infection and death rates (something I hope the majority of other nations will study and follow).

Let’s stop for a second and digest these numbers.

If we were to react rationally from a fact-based perspective then we should “fear” the seasonal flu as much as we do the corona virus.

These facts make it obvious that the coronavirus, like the seasonal flu, are “nasty bugs” and all precautions and all forms of disease management treatments especially for anyone with pre-existing conditions, chronic diseases (which is mostly people over 75) are absolutely needed, important and warranted. We do need highly effective emergency medicine!

And caring for elders, our families, and communities demand being conscious and taking preventive measure (see below). No question about that.

But I wonder if the results of the country lock-downs, shops, and businesses being closed for weeks and months won’t generate way more suffering and diseases compared to the coronavirus? We know that traumatic events, emotional and mental stress can cause many symptoms and chronic diseases. With a major recession looming, 1,000’s of businesses going bankrupt, millions of people being unemployed aren’t we creating more damage?

The Art and Science of Self-Healing Perspective

As you may know, Lifestyle Prescriptions® Health Coaching is based on Lifestyle Medicine and the Art and Science of Self-Healing helping health professionals to address the root-causes of symptoms and use lifestyle medicine-based protocols to improve health and quality of life.

From a self-healing viewpoint, we need to first look at Organ-Mind-Brain Anatomy and dive deeper into the biological function of viruses and how they affect organ tissues.

We have 3-10 times more microbial cells in our body then so-called human cells and there is a really good reason for that. We would not be able to exist without viruses and other microbes.

For decades we’ve been indoctrinated to perceive viruses as pathogens; something highly dangerous that needs to be destroyed because they invade human cells and cause disease.

To be clear, I feel it’s really important especially for holistic-integrative thinking practitioners to not deny the biological facts, for example, that the COVID-19 and other microbes are real can be found if mild or severe symptoms are present.

Biology can be measured and that’s a wonderful thing. We should be proud of how far along science has come and accept the facts science can undeniably prove.

What needs to change though is the “manage disease and treat the symptoms only mindset”.

Lifestyle Medicine research over the last decades has proven that our lifestyle, emotions, beliefs, and environment do play a major role in the onset and healing of a disease.

Are Viruses really causing the symptoms?

I’d like to argue that it’s not that far-fetched to understand microbes (viruses, bacteria, fungi, etc.) playing an essential role in our body.

Yes, they are active whenever we notice major tissue reactions and symptoms; but are they the “cause” of the symptoms or are they key microbial players that are required as part of our natural self-healing and homeostasis mechanisms?

Let’s look at recent discoveries:

    • Viruses interact with both human cells and other microbes and form a symbiotic relationship (13)
    • Plant and insect viruses are known to confer key benefits to their hosts including protection from harsh weather conditions and pathogens (15)
    • Virome is more than a collection of pathogens and includes viruses that function much like symbiotic bacteria having an advantageous impact on the human host (immuno-modulation)  (15)
    • Virome are the largest, the most diverse, and most dynamic part of the microbiome and the majority of them are in our gut (bacteriophages) (13)
    • They are triggered to be active  – for instance, in times of stress or if the host bacterium is in danger of causing a widespread change in the gut’s microbial community.
    • Viruses evolve and change, rapidly adjusting to lifestyle, age, geographic location, and even the season of the year
    • From an estimated 400 trillion viruses only a small number of viruses are known to be pathogenic (like Sars-CoV-2)
    • Viruses are responsible for an impressive 30 percent or higher of all protein adaptations since the human divergence with chimpanzees.

Suddenly microbes and viruses don’t sound so horrible anymore, right?

Example: Respiratory Lung Tissue Viral Infection

If viruses and microbes are not the “bad” guys but actually play an important role in the regeneration process of tissue how would that work? What’s the process?

Coronaviruses are often found in lung tissue and cells as part of an inflammatory process. With pneumonia, the highly active inflammatory process often with edema and tissue changes can be seen on x-ray in one or both lungs. (10)(12)

Organ-Mind-Brain Anatomy tells us that every organ tissue in our body is “made” of a specific tissue. The lungs, as part of the respiratory system, are responsible for gas exchange and have developed into distinct tissue (based on embryology):

    • Endoderm lining the respiratory diverticulum gives rise to the epithelium and glands of the trachea, bronchi, and alveoli as well as the epithelial lining of the larynx
    • Splanchnic mesoderm gives rise to the connective tissue, cartilage, airway, and vascular smooth muscles of the lungs.
    • Neural innervation and sensory tissue in the lungs (bronchial mucosa and others) are of ectodermal origin (11)

The 9 Points & Phases of Self-Healing

We know that every one of these organ tissues reacts with different symptoms during stress and regeneration according to the 9 points and phases of self-healing.

For now, we want to look specifically at the ectodermal “sensory-nerve” tissue in the lungs, how they react to stress, and in regeneration.

During the stress-sympathetic phase we’ll see the following symptoms (often not noticed by clients):

    • Loss of function
    • Painless ulceration (expansion and improved airflow)
    • Hyper ventilation

Whenever a client and the specific organ tissue switches into the regeneration-repair-parasympathetic activity we see the following increase in symptoms:

    • Swelling
    • Hypersensitivity (throat irritations)
    • Inflammation
    • Viral infections
    • Fever
    • Coughing (which can continue for weeks or months)
    • Bronchitis
    • Dyspnea (shortness of breath)
    • Pneumonia (high fever, inflammation with edema in lungs) (10)

I understand that it’s counterintuitive to realize that the majority of severe symptoms for the ectodermal tissue in the lungs are part of the regeneration phase, but its easily confirmed using our 10-Step Root-Cause Analysis Process which every one of our Lifestyle Prescription® Health Coach Specialists has learned and uses daily with clients.

Naturally, if this process is chronic then we see a client fluctuate and change between the stress-sympathetic and regeneration-parasympathetic phases and corresponding symptoms.

That’s where the danger really is.

With chronic processes our body (specifically the bronchial lung tissue) can never fully regenerate and over time will require emergency treatments and support.

The 6 Root-Causes of all Symptoms

Lifestyle Medicine understands that the majority of chronic symptoms can be stopped or reversed using comprehensive lifestyle modifications which typically include nutrition, stress management, physical exercise, and social support.

At Lifestyle Prescriptions® University we teach an advanced and much more precise form of Lifestyle Medicine based on the Art and Science of Self-Healing and Organ-Mind-Brain Anatomy.

Basically, there are 6 Root-Causes that need to be addressed:

the 6 root-causes of symptoms

I believe by now it’s pretty obvious to most people and health professionals how important these 6 factors are for living a healthy, productive, and empowered life.

For the purpose of this article, I’d like to encourage everyone to become more aware of the emotional and mental stressors we experience in life and how they affect specific organ tissue symptoms.

What we’ve seen again and again with thousands of clients is that typical stressors and emotions affecting the lungs are

    • Territorial fear (social stressors)
    • Death-fright (survival)
    • Suffocating & breathing conflicts are often related to grief, sadness, or other unresolved emotional hurts

Just ask yourself: What’s the biological purpose of the lung alveoli or bronchial mucosa or muscle? What is that organ tissue supposed to do?

These root-cause-based questions will reveal to you which stressors and conflicts cause it to go into stress (sympathetic) activity and it will reveal what needs to happen for it to regenerate (parasympathetic) and heal.

Get a complimentary consultation from a Lifestyle Prescriptions® Health Coach to have your questions answered.

The only way to achieve sustainable health is resolving the root-causes of symptoms and breaking the chronic cycle between stress and regeneration.

  1. Why is this important?

After becoming aware of the points & phases of self-healing and the 6 Root-Causes, our Lifestyle Prescriptions® Health Coach clients start to lose their fear about viruses and start to make more informed and smart decisions that are in alignment with their body’s natural self-healing mechanism.

They sense that viruses are part of a larger picture and most active (pathogenic from a traditional perspective) in the regeneration phase which in turn is absolutely essential and our body’s way to return to homeostasis.

As mentioned above it’s obvious to note that whenever someone is going through a long or intensive chronic lung process being exposed to any viruses will increase the already present symptoms and very likely will be life-threatening.

Treating and managing the symptoms will then be extremely important. Whenever symptoms are severe we can be glad to have emergency medicine available.

The Lifestyle Prescriptions® Health Coach Protocols

If you experience flu-like symptoms then the CDC and WHO suggest:

    • Wash your hands frequently with soap (or sanitizer) for 20 seconds
    • Avoid close contact with sick people
    • Stay home if you’re sick
    • Talk to your health care provider and follow instructions

In addition, there are excellent anti-viral and immune-supporting remedies you can take to lower the intensity of symptoms and strengthen the immune system for a speedy recovery. If needed talk to a trusted health coach and provider for guidance and make sure to give yourself and your body time to regenerate.

Addressing the Root-Causes

Our Lifestyle Prescriptions® Health Coaches use 6 root-cause protocols to reverse any chronic dis-ease process:

    • Manage stress better
Become aware of the specific emotional, mental, and social stressors affecting your organ tissue symptom. Start by noticing the conflicts you have experienced during a stress phase. (18) (19) (20)
    • Stay emotionally healthy
Notice your unresolved emotional hurts and find ways to forgive and let them go. Add positive emotions and experiences to your life.
    • Let go of limiting beliefs
Did you know that not believing or identifying with every thought you have is freeing you up? Be mindful, watch your limiting thoughts and change them into empowering beliefs.
    • Increase vitality, life energy, and body strength
Eat better, exercise and love more. Breathe deeply and energize every single cell in your body. Notice and integrate new healthy habits into your life. One small habit at a time. (21) (22)
    • Design your social environment
Pay attention to how your relationships, social interactions, and environment gives you strength (or drain your energy). Eliminate or change whatever is unhealthy. Improve your reality one step at a time. (17)

Doing nothing or waiting for things to get better is the opposite of what you should do.

Don’t hope. Act instead.

You’re not alone. Get help.

Quick Strategies for a Healthy Immune System

Remember you are in charge and in control of many aspects even while experiencing a stressful situation. Here’re 3 powerful ways to strengthen your immune system right now:

    1. Take high doses of Vitamin D and C and increase healthy foods like whole-food-based vegetables, fruits, legumes, grains.
    2. Remove stress in your life (one-by-one) especially let go of unresolved emotional stressors and limiting beliefs (limit social media and internet – and watch the video below).
    3. Be present. Make a conscious decision to not give in to the fear spread by media and others. Listen to Eckhart Tolle on how to transform fear:

Thermography to grow your business and confidence in yourself and with clients

The Thermobuzzer™ Mobile Thermography System has been unarguably one of the best investments I’ve made in my health practice. I knew from the moment I read about the infrared imaging camera that it would make a significant difference in the services I offer. What I hadn’t expected was the increased confidence it’s also given me as I also see the tangible evidence of how effective Lifestyle Prescriptions® Health Coaching is in reducing temperature differentials in the body, so long as my clients are committed to making the micro-changes in their diet, thinking and lifestyle that I recommend.

Clients pick up on our confidence levels, so this is another benefit.

The picture ThermoBuzzer Thermography Cindy Galvin London UKwas taken at one of the many events I speak at about Lifestyle Prescriptions® and the Thermobuzzer™.

Nearly one-third of those who listened to my presentation at this event came to my stand afterwards wanting to learn more.

Many booked Lifestyle Prescription® sessions with me and others either purchased, or are in the process of purchasing, the Thermobuzzer™ to use in their practice. The infrared camera was the big selling point in all instances, because people understood that they will see how the work benefits them.

From a health perspective, the more our clients see how effective the Lifestyle Prescription® process is on their health, the more committed they become. And, really, isn’t helping people live healthier lives what it’s all about?

The Thermobuzzer™ brings to the coaching visible evidence that can’t be denied. I’ve been seeing clients for Bowen Therapy for over 11 years and I’ve lost track of how many times they return reporting improvements, but failing to credit the therapy.  And this is understandable as the changes are often subtle. Absent anything else to prove otherwise, clients will naturally believe that it’s due to their body needing time to heal on its own. And it has … with a little help.

The beauty of Thermobuzzer™ Imaging is that it’s portable and non-invasive. I have grown my business with clients who are now booking for full-body scans every six months to once a year. They are getting their families to come and are spreading word to their friends.

I find it particularly useful to use with women for breast scanning. I’m very careful to spend time emphasizing that this is not a medical diagnosis and clients don’t seem to mind. They can see for themselves how their body reacts to the work we do together.

I also market a service for people working in high stress environments, talking with them about the impact of cortisol on their health and the long-term damaging impact it has. This is talked about a lot in mainstream press, so people understand this. I invite people in for a full body scan and we then decide together which area to work on first. There’s no limit to what you can do to build your practice with this.

This is equipment that will make a significant impact on your business and in the confidence that your clients have that the Lifestyle Prescription® process works. What more could you ask for?

How To Boost Your Immunity | Dr. Dean Ornish

This is a really important article I received from Dr. Dean Ornish and I feel it needs sharing. Excellent scientific references and tips to build up your immune system from a Lifestyle Medicine perspective.

Your health, wellness & safety are important to us!

We understand that this pandemic is causing feelings of uncertainty and anxiety. To avoid getting sick, most of the focus so far has been on preventing exposure to the coronavirus, which, of course, is very important—staying at home, social distancing, hand washing, gloves, masks, disinfecting, etc.  We’re all in this together!

But very little has been written about the other half of the equation: how to enhance your immune system so that if you are exposed, you can reduce the chances of getting sick—or at least mitigate the intensity of the disease and thus reduce the death rate.

The four aspects of our Ornish Lifestyle Medicine program—Eat Well, Move More, Stress Less, Love More—have been proven to reverse a wide variety of chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes, early-stage prostate cancer, and hypertension. They also enhance immune function.

Our book, UnDo It!, describes this in more detail. Here are some relevant studies:

1. Love More

Spreading fear and loathing about the coronavirus may, ironically, increase the risk of getting sick. Fear can be self-fulfilling to the extent that it does suppress immune function and makes someone more likely to get the very disease they’re most afraid of.

Also, staying at home and social distancing help prevent transmission of the virus, but feeling lonely can be harmful to your health. Study after study have shown that people who are lonely and isolated are 3-10 times more likely to get sick and die prematurely of virtually all causes when compared to those who have a strong sense of love and community.

Fortunately, there are many things we can do to enhance our immune function to help protect us. While it’s important to stay at home, wash your hands, disinfect, etc., it’s also wise to spend more time socializing with family members who are living with you as well using video or just audio technologies like Zoom or the phone to virtually spend time with friends and family in other places.

For example, Sheldon Cohen did a study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, in which he dripped rhinovirus (which causes the common cold) in the noses of volunteers. (I don’t know how he persuaded people to volunteer and got this approved by the human studies committee….) All of them became infected, but not everyone developed the signs and symptoms of a cold.

Those that had only 1-3 social ties—defined as a phone call or visit from a friend every two weeks—were 4.2 times more likely to develop a cold than those with 6 or more social ties during that time. (Now, just visit friends virtually rather than in person.)

2. Stress Less

In an earlier study, Cohen dripped five types of respiratory viruses (rhinovirus type 2, 9, or 14, respiratory syncytial virus, or coronavirus type 229E, a less deadly form than the current coronavirus) into volunteers. The rates of both respiratory infection and clinical colds increased significantly in a dose-response manner with increases in the degree of psychological stress. Infection rates ranged from approximately 74 percent to approximately 90 percent, according to levels of psychological stress, and the incidence of clinical colds ranged from approximately 27 percent to 47 percent.

In other words, stress suppressed their immune function. Because of this, the more stressed they felt, the more likely they were to get infected and sick.

And in a more recent study, he found that those who he infected with rhinoviruses who had positive emotions such as happy, pleased, and relaxed had a 2.9 times lower risk of developing a cold than those who did not in a dose-response fashion.

In other words, feeling happy and peaceful enhances your immune system.

In contrast, when you’re depressed, your immune system is depressed as well. In a different study by Margaret Chesney and others, men who were HIV positive (i.e., all had evidence of being infected with the HIV virus) and were depressed were significantly more likely to develop AIDS and die from it than those who were not depressed.

3. Eat Well

Numerous studies have clearly shown that a healthful whole foods plant-based diet enhances your immune function. There are thousands of substances in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and soy products that are protective against infections.

4. Move More

Many studies have shown a clear, inverse relationship between moderate exercise and risk of a wide variety of illnesses, including infectious diseases. It enhances immune regulation. Just walking 15-30 minutes/day makes a big difference in your immune function.

So, I put all of this together to say that it does make very good sense to be mindful of reducing risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus by staying at home, social distancing, hand washing, gloves, masks, disinfecting, etc.) without becoming afraid or depressed. And to spend more time virtually in loving relationships with friends and family; eating well; moving more; and stressing less.

In short, enhancing our immune system can help us to be less “influenced” by the influenza virus.

Finding meaning in situations, especially bad ones, also helps enhance our immune system. With all the tragedy of the coronavirus, is there anything meaningful that comes from it?

First, for those of us who work too much, being at home and being told not to go to work or to travel gives everyone a valid rationale to spend more time with our friends and family, both in-person with those you live with and also virtually with others. No FOMO if everything is cancelled. You don’t have to give an excuse at work to stay home.

Also, having a common enemy can help heal some of the wounds that divide our country. These are profoundly human issues that affect everyone in all states, both red and blue.

It reminds me a little of the classic science fiction movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still, in which an intelligent alien comes to Earth to warn everyone of the importance of living peacefully. He caused all mechanical and electrical machines to stop for an hour to get everyone’s attention. Our world this week is also stopping—for much more than an hour—and it’s getting everyone’s attention as well.

And, finally, having so much less traffic and manufacturing is also giving the Earth a chance to breathe and heal, at least temporarily. A literal breather.

Wishing you and your loved ones health & happiness!

Unprecedented Times Call For Unprecedented Action

Never before has humankind ever experienced anything like this and I’m
sure you’ll agree that the last couple of weeks in particular, have felt completely surreal.

It’s interesting to note that in my previous newsletter, I was talking about it being the Year of the Rat and considering the attributes such as a rat’s intelligence, its ability to solve problems and focus on priorities, resourcefulness and adaptability qualities, as a metaphor, it’s a great reminder that this is the ideal Universal Energy for us to align ourselves with, to help deal with such an extraordinary global situation.

So let’s just have a quick reality check whilst you’re here…

    • How are you actually doing at this time of uncertainty and upheaval?
    • Have you been massively affected at home, in your business?
    • Are you feeling a little out of control and unsure about how to manage this unexpected situation?
    • Has your world been turned upside down and you don’t know what to do for the best?

Reflecting on my own circumstances, I can see how that having pets in the
household maintains our routines and gives us reason to get up and get going with the day, plus, my husband and I have been ‘home-workers’ for a number of years, so we’ve already got an established routine, with agreed roles.

The most major change that we’ve had to deal with is accommodating our youngest son working from home too. We know that we are very fortunate; blessed with space both inside the home and outside, which has made the transition a lot easier.

How quickly things change too, with the announcement yesterday of my son now having been ‘furloughed’ along with the majority of his colleagues and this has highlighted further, the need for us to quickly adapt within our household and formulate a timetable to help us all respect each other’s needs and private space, so that everyone is in agreement with the latest developments to ensure a robust family infrastructure, which has the flexibility to change.

I like the analogy of us being in a ‘Life Boat’ …

… and the importance of caring and maintaining it to withstand choppy waters (especially stormy spells), helping ourselves and each other to stay safe and protected. It needs a proper plan in place to avoid causing any unnecessary rocking (or even the possibility of capsizing) of the ‘Gardner Life Boat’ and also, to include a contingency element for emergencies.

Yet for many people I’ve spoken with over the last few days, there’s an underlying apathy and helplessness which appears to be causing all sorts of disruptions, especially to wellbeing that seems to come from an overall lack of direction and purpose. This is to be expected, as so many people are going through a type of ‘loss’ and consequently are experiencing some level of grief where there is a natural cycle of emotions which typically have to be expressed.

See the illustration to help you identify where you, or someone you know maybe in this process AND please note, that it too will pass AND there are some excellent techniques to help people move through the stages quickly and safely.

Let’s be clear… We have been directed to ‘physically distance’ ourselves
for quarantine purposes and yet, we are more ‘socially connected’ than
ever! The words we use are key to whether they amplify in a positive or negative way, so if it doesn’t feel right, check the wording, because that is what can send you into a spiral either in a good way or the opposite.

Things have taken on a rather strange feel though, it’s like we’re all having the same awful dream which doesn’t make any sense and especially when relying on a variety of ‘news sources’ for the latest ‘tid-bits’ of information, unsure what is hype and sifting through potential conspiracy theories in an effort to find out the truth; ratified and upheld by confirmed proven data, scientific or otherwise.

YES, it’s easy to get caught up in the constant monitoring of internet newsfeeds, so as to get the most ‘up-to-date’ news, which is a typical survival strategy to stay safe and that in itself, can generate unnatural levels of stress with the constant streaming of news which tends to be presented in a sensationalised manner and often without the full background details
which can be misleading and at the very worse, downright scary.

My recommendation is to be discerning and select a couple of trustworthy sources that you resonate with and are factual with a positive bias.

Limit the number of times you view them throughout a day and don’t read or view at bedtime!

Already though we are seeing wonderful acts of kindness and community spirit, as we pull together and check on each other and do the things that really matter, with selfless acts of caring and compassion more locally.

What’s truly inspiring is the creativity being evoked and the ability to use
humor for lightening the oppression, finding and learning new ways of doing things which are meaningful providing that much needed sense of connection and unity.

In my line of work I’ve been developing ‘tried and tested’ systems for maintaining my own personal and professional wellbeing, it’s as though I’ve been preparing for this exceptional period all of my life and NOW all my learned knowledge and life experience combined, has positioned me with a future-proofing of my health and wellness in ways that I could never have anticipated until now.

“With an ongoing passion to share an important message about focused attention to SELF-CARE and an aim for BALANCE in all areas of life; taking responsibility for your own HEALTH and WELLBEING. When this is done, we are EMPOWERED and we are more able to THINK, FEEL and ACT from a place of LOVE (as opposed to FEAR) which provides a naturally strong platform and framework for HARMONY.”

This may help you to feel a little more in control of your health and wellbeing by paying attention to what you CAN do…

What changes have you had to deal with which have been a test of your mental strength, that surprisingly then turned out better than expected?

What have you learned from this?

Keep looking for the ‘silver lining’, whatever is happening there’s always a blessing, even if you can’t see it at the time!

I’m truly grateful for being able to walk our 2 dogs along by the river and as I gaze around me appreciating the beautiful Derbyshire and Staffordshire landscape, it occurs to me that nothing here is any different. Mother Earth continues to reliably go through the natural cycles of the season with new bright green buds appearing in the hedgerows now.

Whilst walking, I realized that the only thing that connects us to the Corona virus situation going on ‘out there’ is my thoughts and so I choose to look for the positives and think about the good things that are coming out of all this… AND THERE ARE MANY!

The world as we knew it, is threatened to be radically changed and that is a good thing surely, as previously faced with problems which appeared insurmountable and yet as a race, we were on a cataclysmic trajectory that was likely to have sealed the fate of humanity, with the mounting evidence of continued negligence towards a healthy balance in particular throughout global industry markets.

The unrelenting greed for financial power and wealth was continually being
justified over the simple needs of basic human rights and consequently, the
Earth, our planet, our home, was being abused on all levels.

So, the Corona virus is here, specifically Covid-19, a novel virus which scientists had little knowledge about at the beginning, yet are working quickly on learning as much as possible through tests to prevent the spread. An excellent and balanced resource I can recommend for you is: a Q & A Special with Gregg Braden, Scientist via YouTube; Coronavirus Truth & Fiction

We’ve seen all sorts of different viruses over millennia, what we might need to be more alert to is other new viruses being released as the ice caps continue melt AND these are potentially thousands if not millions of years old. We could be significantly more at risk with that scenario than with COVID19 which is tragically affecting the vulnerable; elderly, already compromised immune system, underlying health challenge(s).

Yet following just a relatively short period of ‘lockdown’ in the UK, we
are already witnessing beautiful bright clear night skies, free from the
usual filmy smudginess of pollutants. Stars and planets are literally bursting out into view in the inky indigo sky – it is hugely noticeable that having a significantly reduced number of aircraft flying around the world, is directly impacting upon the atmosphere, which demonstrates that when global action takes place at this level of commitment, it really does make a difference and just maybe, we can HALT the demise of melting snowcaps and the dire consequences of the human race collectively having ignored and justified continued devastating practices over common sense.

Lots of ‘old and outmoded’ systems (including Belief Systems on all levels) needed to be stirred up and shaken up, to expose the myths and reveal the truths. Universal Law and natural cycles are always in alignment with balance, ensuring the stability of cosmic continuation, it’s simply ‘natural order’ whether the human race is aligned or not.

“A ‘new world order’ of more loving kindness towards one another, with an appreciation of what we already have available to us naturally, honoring our lands, seas and the air we breathe, conducting business in collaborative
respect, is one new paradigm that I truly welcome and well, just maybe…?”

In summary, there’s been BIG lessons for us all to learn and sometimes unless we are taken to the edge, the easiest option is to continue doing what we’ve always done… but we know what happens when we keep doing that! 😉
